The sandwich had melted mozzarella cheese and was paired with a side of au jus dipping sauce and jardinière for an extra kick. My boyfriend ordered the Italian beef sandwich with a cup of chicken tortilla soup. His meal was completed with a side of roasted garlic fries. ![]() One of my dining companions ordered the Stacks Burger that, of course, was stacked with bacon, cheese and onions in a soft pretzel roll. This succulent filet was stacked over creamy Romano potatoes and complimented with asparagus. It was perfectly cooked to my medium well liking. I ordered the filet, which was topped with gorgonzola cheese and a refreshing tomato basil blend. The filet, with potatoes and asparagus, at Stacks. By the look of the tall, frosty glasses on almost every table, it was apparent that many people took advantage of the half-price special. Stacks raises the bar with their extensive selection of craft beers on tap. We dined on a Wednesday night, which happened to be their half -price draft beer night. However, we were pleasantly surprised when the hostess came back in less than 10 minutes to seat us. So, when the hostess told us it would be a 20-minute wait to be seated, we were not surprised. I arrived with a group of friends around 7 p.m. But once you get inside, you’ll see that Stacks is a welcoming place for everyone. The location alone draws people into what seems like an exclusive and trendy restaurant. Stacks is one of the popular restaurants in the flourishing downtown Valparaiso area. I honestly can't wait to go back.Stacks Bar & Grill in Valparaiso, Indiana definitely lives up to its name when it comes to the décor and the food.Įverywhere you look in restaurant there are stacks of books up and down the walls and shelves. The man working the counter at the time is one of the owners and he was patient and kind and helpful when I didn't understand why there was so many different menus. the food is so so good! We tried the spicy cowboy Philly from Big D's, the bubble tea from the adjacent business for gluten free treats, and a bunch of individual cheesecakes and everything was really good. I don't remember all the names but there's the Philly cheese steak place called Big D's, a hot dog place, a taco place, a cheesecake place, and a gluten free food (they had sweet and savory) and bubble tea place. So, something I didn't understand right away: Big D's is one of like five small business inside the 'Lincoln Kitchen' building.
